The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights warned ASU and 59 other universities they could face enforcement action for failing to protect Jewish students under Title VI. ASU is among 55 schools under investigation or monitoring after complaints; the department did not detail the complaints against ASU.

The warning followed an April 2024 pro-Palestinian encampment at ASU where dozens were arrested for trespassing; ASU said 20 of those arrested were its students.

ASU's side / contextKTAR's report includes no ASU statement on the federal warning.
